Story 56: Jim Radford
Some Veterans who witnessed the carnage of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy were never able to talk to anyone about what they saw, felt and experienced as young men and women.
Memories which lasted a lifetime, but kept locked away for decades by a generation raised to value stoicism and to keep their feelings to themselves.
Some, as we’ve seen during our series, gave interviews to their loved-ones, some wrote books to try to comprehend what they had been through during the war.
Others sought solace in art or music.
This is the story of musician Jim Radford.
