D-Day - 75 Stories: Introduction. General The Lord Richard Dannatt

Thursday 6 June 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Each day, over the next 75 days, The Normandy Memorial Trust will count down to this historic date by sharing a selection of remarkable stories of heroism and sacrifice which it has discovered.

The Normandy Memorial Trust is building the British Normandy Memorial.

It will commemorate the 22,442 people who were killed whilst serving under British command during the Battle of Normandy, between 6 June and 31 August 1944.

The ‘22,442 Sacrifice for Freedom Campaign’ is raising funds to complete the Memorial project.

Trustee, General The Lord Richard Dannatt looks ahead to the next 75 days.
